Proof that one can have an intelligent, reasonable discussion about Piper
    http://tracelesswarrior.blogspot.com/2006/11/proof-that-one-can-have-intelligent.html

Mushtaq is an awesome fellow, and now a generous friend. He’s a skilled Silat stylist. a blade-maker, a researcher, a traveller and writer. His friends are many and distinguished. He has much to teach if you are open to receive.

Where forums are concerned, there is a great deal of discussion that’s been going on for some time.

One recent dialogue that I was involved can be found here on the TPI forum (Total Protection Interactive) at http://www.totalprotectioninteractive.com/forum/. TPI is owned by Southnarc from ShivWorks. Lots of info to be found there.
Go to Video Center > Video Clip Discussion > Piper Blade, search on the word ‘Piper’, else use this direct link: http://www.totalprotectioninteractive.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5184

There is an interesting discussion by Bandile Dlabantu and others, including Marc MacYoung, on the Eskrima Digest forum. Click this link to go to the search page. Search on the term ?Piper System?. I found 7 fascinating articles ranging from Okapi knives, Black tribal history that many will find enlightening as it kills a few sacred bulls, information on South African township culture and more. Bandile is an intelligent, accomplished Martial Artist whom I met some years ago when he invited me to teach a seminar at his MA school in Grahamstown. Marc MacYoung is the author of several superb books and videos on criminality and personal safety, and we have drawn on the knowledge and experience he has shared with us in our own learning.

Tom Furman has added an interesting blog article about us on his blog at http://physicalstrategies.blogspot.com/2006/11/blink-and-you-will-die-in-dark.html

This blog author, who writes an excellent blog about Chinese martial arts, mysticism and other subjects is well worth a visit. We’ve nicknamed him The Druid, if only because we don’t know his name ;-)

He has written about or mentioned us a few of times. Check here:

    Akusoloko kulula

He recently posted this comment on his blog, which we found unusual. Both Nigel and myself know of no such inidividual, however I’m sure Nigel will contact him to learn more.

“Given that I’ve recently discovered, and been talking about, the Piper System, it came as a surprise that another of my bagua classmates knows a Piper Guardian up in Malaysia.”

There are other great people out there, some friends of Mushtaq that are a great read and sources of learning. I will add those soon.

One Response to “Piper Links”

Regarding the Malaysia reference: I mentioned to Nigel in email that this was a misunderstanding. The guy I was talking to doesn’t speak English all that well, and my Mandarin is also lousy, so it turned out we were talking at cross-purposes. There is indeed no Piper Guardian in Malaysia.

Also, I wrote about you again more recently:

    Best regards from Singapore!
